Somersault is a property development partnership between Match and the Department of Housing. The high standard affordable housing development on Beach Street, Fremantle was launched in a tight property market. Targeting a first-home buying demographic, Nude was engaged to name the development and create all of the identity, brand and marketing material, including photography, for the campaign. With the relative elasticity of a younger target audience, we proposed a name that would reflect a sense of energy and life – “Somersault”. The name then dictated the direction for the identity, brand, copywriting and photography for the development, and Nude leveraged off this to create a feeling that was exciting and bankable. The finished publication and brand was modern, youthful and contemporary. Through the use of bold colours and typography that clearly communicated short messages to the reader, the publication sought to instantaneously connect with the reader whilst positioning the development as a realistic ‘must-have’ in the market. The use of atmospheric, ambient observational photography enabled us to capture the cultural and creative essence of inner city living in Fremantle. To further complement this brand ‘feel’ and its younger audience, we packaged the brochures in clear plastic 12” record sleeves.
